Mini Hike 1-15-2011

After being cooped up inside at work all week I wanted to spend my weekend doing something outside! I thought of a couple places Zac and I could go but not all of them would allow dogs and some were a drive away. Then I thought about the obvious, there is a mountain right behind my house that has great views and allows dogs, can't get much better then that. So Saturday morning Zac and I got up, loaded Hudson and did our small hike. We wanted to go to the top of the mountain but we didn't realize how warm it was going to be and poor Hudson does not like to get to hot. Our hike ended up being about 4 miles, 2 up and 2 down. It was short and sweet, but so nice to get outside!

Car Show in San Jose

When I am down in So Cal over Christmas break it is a family tradition to go to the San Diego car show. This year was my turn to stay up north so Zac and I were not able to go with my family. I did a little research and found out that they have the car show up here as well.

Zac had to turn something in at Mill Valley so we decided we would drive and extra hour and go to the car show. We also had a Cheesecake Factory giftcard that needed to be used :) We were not at the car show for very long. I was not impressed. The San Digeo one is so much larger, they were missing a bunch of cars at this years show. I did get to see my Jeep Grand Cherokee that I  like and my Corvette but that was about it!



Shooting 1-8-2011

So a couple weeks ago Zac and I got together with our friends Chelsie and Jason to make dinner, we probably get together once a week. We thought it would be a fun idea to go shooting! We were planning to go up to Cow Mountain but then Chelsie said we could stay here in town and shoot at Jasons grandparents property! How could we say no?

We got up in the morning and started getting everything together. It was SO cold outside and I do not do so well in the cold. I was all bundled up ready to go. We decided to me Jason and Chelsie at palasades to grab some sandwhiches before our day of shooting.

I was hoping that the fog would burn off a little and things would warm up but no such luck!brrr! We got there right after lunch time and headed out to the field to get started. This was my first time shooting clay pigeons and I must say Im not very good at it! We all made turns going up to shoot, I probably did the least because I was starting to freeze.

Chelsie and Jason brought their dog diesel out shooting. It was so funny to watch him go retrieve the clay pigeons we missed. The would have him sit while we shot and then once we missed them they would say "Fetch it up" and he would take off running to get them and bring them back! Wish Hudson would do that but I think he would run and not come back....or just eat them!

The first day of a new year 1-1-11

What a fun New Years we had! After coming home from our party and getting some much needed sleep Dana amd I woke up to Zac cooking us a delcious breakfast. He was really excited because while he was out getting groceries he saw that Mt. St. Helena was covered in snow! He told us to get bundled up because he was taking us up the mountain.


After finishing breakfast Dana and I put on our wamest clothes and hopped in the truck with Zac and Hudson. I had been wanting to take Hudson up to the snow but I wasn't excited about the 4 hour drive. This would be his very fisrt adventure in a winter wonderland! It didnt take us long before we were on top of the mountain. We had a blast watching Hudson react to the snow, he loved it! Enjoy some of our pictures from our morning in the snow :)

Happy New Year!! What an exciting way to kick off 2011. Zac and I were invited to go to this huge mansion for New Years years with some friends. Of course we wanted to go check it out! I talked to my best friend Dana and she said she would love to come up north for New Years. 

I was able to get Thursday off off work and picked up Dana at the airport late that night. Friday morning we got ready and headed into Santa Rosa to see if we could find any cute dresses to wear to our party! By the time we were done shopping it was already time to head back to Calistoga to get ready for the night! Enjoy some of the pictures from our night above the clouds!
