Beach Day with Hudson

After my family left on Monday morning Zac and I decided we wanted to try taking Hudson to the beach, it would be his first time! We waited till around lunch and then loaded up the barracuda and headed off to Bodega. We decided to stop by Safeway and pick up some sandwiches. As we got closer we could see that it was foggy, we were hoping to have hot weather but no such luck.

The first beach we tried was Salmon Creek, when we got there we found out that they don't allow dogs so we kept searching. We found one that allowed dogs but they chared $6.00 just to get in and we really didn't want to pay that amount for an hour or so, pus we didnt have any cash on us. So off we went to to find the next beach.

We finally ended up a very small secluded beach. Hudson was very excited to run around on the sand! He wasn't to sure about the waves but he got used to them. He would run out into the water but then when a wave would come he would run away as fast as he could! We will definately need to take him back, and hopefully on a sunny day!

Once we finished up on the beach we headed home because Zac and I had a date at the movies! Hudson was worn out from all his running around. He slept almost all the way home.

Happy 4th!

Happy Fourth of July!! Well, we started out the weekend right with my family driving up from So Cal. They arrived Friday evening and stopped by our house to say hello! Mom and dad stayed at the hotel that is about 50 feet from our house while my sister stayed in our guest bedroom!

Saturday morning Zac had to work so we all hoped in the car and headed out towards Sonoma. We wanted to stop by the Lavender fields but they were no where to be found! So off to Sonoma we went. Once we got there we were able to walk around down town and enjoy the shops. Around 12:30 we got a little hungry so we found a place called the Sunflower Cafe and we were able to sit down and enjoy some delicious food. When we finished lunch we hit up some more shops and stopped for some ice cream for dad and Jen. After our day in Sonoma we headed back to Calistoga to relax. We wanted to stay in for dinner so we just ordered up some pizza!

Time for fourth of July! It was such a beautiful day in the valley. We started out our day by walkig into town to see the parade, very small town. Zac was in the parade with the Fire Department so it was fun to be able to see him in the engine. Once the parade finished up we walked back home and waited for Zac to get there so we could all drive into St. Helena to get some Travigne.

After we were full we headed back to Calistoga to start setting up for our big BBQ! My mom had sent me up tons of decorations so Jen and I had a lot of things to do. We had wuite a spread for dinner, veggies, chips and salasa, fruit, cupcakes and pie for dessert! Around 5:30 Cindy and Steve showed up and it was time to start the BBQing. Zac, Steve and my dad hung out on the back porch while us girls stayed in enjoying out Mai Tai's. After stuffing ourselves we walked up to the porch to see the fireworks. We were hoping that we would be able to see them from up there but when they started but there was a tree in the way so we ended up walking outside and then we were able to see them! It was a great holiday weekend, so nice to be with family. Be sure to check out more pictures at our shutterfly website!

A nice little Sunday

Every year Calistoga has their annual softball game, Calistoga vs. Cal Fire. This just happen to be on the day when Zac and Jason were working! Chelsie and I decided that we would go over and watch our boys play. At around 11:00 Chelsie and Diesel came and picked up me and Hudson, then we headed into town to grab some sandwiches, then off to the game!

As soon as we got there I was able to see Zac hit a home run! GO ZAC! Chelsie and I found some shade and set up our little picnic with the boys. They did very well, however things got a little hectic every time someone would bring a new dog around. The game lasted over an hour ( Calistoga won!!) and they started serving hot dogs and hamburgers. Chelsie and I decided it was getting a little to hot for Hudson and Diesel and we should probably head back so they can play in some water to cool off.

So we headed on back to Chelsies house and filled up the kiddy pool for the boys, they loved it! Hudson walked right over and layed down in it. For the rest of the afternoon Chelsie and I just relaxed on the couch enjoying the A/C, the dogs and the T.V. It was a very nice way to spend a Sunday!

Mopars in the park

Beautiful day! Zac and I woke up early and headed out to Rancho Cordova for a big Mopar show. We decided to leave Hudson at home because we weren't sure if it was going to be pet friendly and it was going to be a hot day! We left the house at around 8:00 and stopped at Starbucks in Napa to grab some food.

The weather was perfect for shorts and tank tops! We saw a good amount of dogs there but it got really hot really fast so I think Hudson wouln't of been to happy. We started off walking around the swap meet to see if we could find and good parts for the Barracuda. We were specifically looking for a new wheel because one of ours is a little bent. We found a couple while we were there but they came with tires and were between $50-$80.

After the swap meet we decided to check out the cars! I was trying to find a 64 Barracuda to get some ideas but there was not one 64 there! I was able to check out a 65 that was black with black interior that gave me a good idea of how my car could look. Zac was able to talk some guys about putting headers on our 360. Once we looped through all the rows I decided it was time for a sno cone and Zac wanted to cruise through the swap meet one more time so off we went.It was close to lunch and getting hot so we thought it was a good time to head back home to Hudson :)

Best Friend Weekend

What a wonderful weekend! Dana got here Saturday morning around 10:45 and we were able to just sit, relax and catch up for a bit. Then we decided that it was time to head off to St. Helena to eat one of our favorites, Guignis. After our sandwiches we walked around St.Helena and enjoyed the gorgeous weather. Once we were done looking around we headed back to Calistoga and took advantage of the weather with some pictures in the vineyards.

After our pictures we headed back home to get ready for our night out. First we hoped on the crusier bikes and rode into town to get some drinks at Hydro's then it was off to Solage for some french fries, flat bred and pizza! What a fun night!

Sunday was Fathers Day so after we called our dads to wish them a happy day it was back to St. Helena for some more good food! We hit up Travigne Pizzaria for some caprese's. Around 12:30 we headed to Castillo Di Amarosa for our 1:00 tour and wine tasting. Dana had never been to the castle so this was a perfect oppertunity for her to check it out. If anyone is making a trip to the Napa Valley the castle is a must! It is so amazing to see and then when you go on the tour an find out all the details and hard work that went in to making it, its just amazing.

When our wine tasting was over we headed over to Santa Rosa to get a pedicure and then we were off to the Fleckners house for a Fathers Day BBQ for Steve. The food was amazing, salmon, potatoes, salad, coleslaw, bread! What a wonderful way to end out our weekend.

Summer's here!

So happy that summer is finally here! We have had some rain on and off for the last month but finally we are up in the 80's and I'm loving it! Hudson slows down in the heat for sure, but we have found out that he loves water. When we take him over to Cindy and Steve's he goes straight for the fountain! Zac and I decided to take him to some water today to see how he would do.

He loved wading around in the water. He was a little un sure about swimming but we saw him go for it once or twice. After we tested the water out Zac and I decided to walk down town to get some ice cream and to let Hudson dry off a little. Once we finished our ice cream we headed back to the car but Hudson was ready to try out the water again so back we went! We can't wait to take him camping.

On Saturday Zac and I went to a get together in St.Helena for his cousins graduation. It was such a beautiful day to be outside! After that we decided to head over to the Peggy Sue's cruise in Santa Rosa to check out some sweet cars. We walked around enjoying the warm weather and beautiful cars and then grabbed some food at Mary's.

Palm Springs

May 28th- 31st Cindy, my mom, sister and I made a trip down to Palm Springs for some fun in the sun. I had been sick the days before we left and wasn't sure if I was going to be able to make it on the trip but I decided to go anyways and just hoped I would feel better.

Cindy and I flew in Th
ursday night and my sister and mom picked us up at the airport. Friday we were able to just enjoy some time by the pool. We had the whole day to relax and that was very nice for me because I still wasn't feeling 100%.

Saturday we had tickets for Sex and the city 2. After some more time at the pool we got ready and headed into town for our movie. Then we decided to do some shopping! So much fun. S
unday was more pool time followed by massages! It felt so nice to relax. Our last day was Monday, we decided to pack up and head out to the Cabazon outlets. When we got there it was packed! We had to search for a parking spot for about 10 or 15 minutes. Once we found a spot we were able to spend some time shopping before Cindy and I had to head back to the airport.

It was a wonderful weekend! So glad that we were all able to make it and can't wait till next year!
