Merry Christmas

 

This Christmas was a little different from all my previous ones! If you had read in my previous post you know what I did Christmas Eve. Christmas morning Zac and I were able spend with each other. I tried to sleep in as much as possible but got up around 8:00. Zac had a fire going and we decided to have our mini Christmas with just the two of us, and Hudson of course.

So after Zac and I opened all our gifts and had a nice video chat with my family down in so cal we decided to get ready for our day and head over to Zac's parents house for a late breakfast. It was nice to hang out with his parents on Christmas day. After playing a nice game of scrabble with the fam Zac had to head back to Calistoga for work. I decided to stay a little longer and head home around 9:00.

On Sunday it was back over to the Fleckners house for Christmas #2! Zac, of course, was so excited to get over there and open more presents. We arrived around 10:00 and decided to start with stockings. Everyone had so much finding the scratchers in their stockings and scratching to see if we had won anything! Zac won $5.00, I won $2.00 and Cindy won another ticket. When the stockings were opened we took a break to eat some delicious breakfast that Cindy made! Yummy!

 We devoured the food and decided it was time for the main event! At the

Fleckners house they open presents one at a time, meaning each person opens a gift and then they move on to the next one. It was so great to be able to see all the reactions from the many gifts we all got. I was spoiled rotten this Christmas from my family!

 

I feel so blessed to have such a wonderful family. It was a little harder for me this year being away from my mom, dad and sister but thankfully I have the best in laws ever and they made me feel like I was right at home!

So Excited!

I have such a great husband! For Christmas he surprised me with this beautiful Canon Rebel. I have  been into photography lately and I have been wanting a really nice camera for awhile now, well guess what, I have one!

I am still learning and hope to learn a lot more so that I can take some awesome pictures with my new camera. Stay tuned for some practice sessions! Hopefully I can post some photo shoots if I ever do any! Wish me luck ;)

Christmas Eve 2010

I can't believe that Christmas is tomorrow! I knew it was going to come fast this year. Zac and I have been taking it easy all day. I have the day off of work and Zac won't have to go back to work till tomorrow night.

We started off our day by sleeping in, till 8:00 :) Once we got up and got going Zac went over to someones house and picked up a truck bed full of fire wood. He said its really nice wood.

We decided to head into town to get some breakfast at Hydros. It is a chilly day for sure but it is not raining, yet. Once we got home Zac started to unload his truck bed of wood, of course he started a fire for me first! While he was keeping busy I decided to wrap some gifts and listen to some Christmas music.

Hudson got to enjoy some outside time, he sure loves this cold weather! Zac is going to try and give him a bath today for Christmas, he does not smell very good at all!! Later tonight Zac and I are going to head into Santa Rosa to spend Christmas eve with his parents. We are going to eat dinner and then drive around and look at Christmas lights. Ill try and post some pictures!

There is some sad news on such a good day. Today my sister and her husband had to put there English bulldog Turner to sleep. They have had Turner since they got married 4 years ago. The last week they took him to the vet and he was diagnosed with cancer. The cancer moved extremely fast and they had to put him to sleep today. I feel sad for both of them having to go through such an event right before Christmas, but he was such a good dog for them and we will always remember him! RIP Turner.

 

My long lost friend

One of my dear friends Georgiana had been in the Carribean for school and I hadn't seen her in over a year! She had just flown back into the states and got ahold of me to get together. It worked out perfect for us to see eachother this last Sunday. We started our reunion at Brannans here in Calistoga and then ended at my house. Georgi wanted to see where Zac and I lived and wanted to meet Hudson. It was so awesome being able to see her and catch up sense it had been such a long time!!

                        

Friend Time Dec. 11

 

Okay, so Im not really a wino but I sure go wine tasting a lot, what else do you do in the Valley? My friend Manny (from work) and I have been wanting to get together and hang out, outside of work. We finally found a weekend that we were both free and I invited him and his wife (Yoli) to come hang out in Calistoga for the afternoon.

They got into town around 2:00 and we hoppde on the bikes and headed to our first winery of the day, Summers. We did our tasting and enjoyed some chocolate with it! We were so lucky to be able to ride our bikes around on such aneautiful day because it had been yucky weather the day before.

After finishing up at Summers we got back on the bikes and crossed the street to Envy winery. We seemed to be beating the crowd everywhere we went! Once we got done at Envy we decided to stop and Barolo and get a little snack before our reservations at Solbar. We hung out at Barolo for over and hour and then back on the bikes to go get some delcicous food! What a fun night :)

Christmas Tree time and Tractor Parade!

Its about that time again! Yesterday Zac and I decided it was time to get our Christmas tree! It had been gloomy and rainy all day but we were determined to find our tree! We headed out pretty early in the morning and went over to Santa Rosa to Kringles to find our tree.

Our house is a little bigger this year so we all know that that means, bigger tree! I always try and get the biggest tree I can put in a house. This year we ended up with a 7 and a half Douglas Fir and with the tree topper hitting the roof, I think we got a good size!

A few weeks ago Zac bought a 1969 Dodge D100, it was really nice being able to put the tree in the back of the truck ( with Hudson of course) and not have to strap it to the top of a Celica. In my family we never had a truck so we would always bring our little cars, get a 9 foot tree and strap it on!

Once we found the tree it was time to head home and start the decorations! Hudson was waiting paitently :)

When we got home Zac and I dropped off the tree and headed out for a few minutes, we wanted to get some pictures for our Christmas card this year! I don't want to give anything away or post any pictures till after people get them, suprise!

Once we got back from our little adventure Zac got started on the house lights and I worked on the tree! I forgot how many orniments I had and how beautiful all of them are. The tree is already making our house smell so good!

Zac and I took one little break to grab some Tacos and Margaritas, then it was back to work! We finished just in time to get ready. We had a busy night ahead of us, Calistoga's Tractor Parade! This was my first year being able to go to the parade but I was very excited, it was a perfect way to end the day. 

Thanksgiving 2010

Happy Thanksgiving! I have been so busy lately I have gotten behind on my blogging! Better late then never I suppose. This year for thanksgiving Zac and I stayed up North. We are trying to go back and forth every other year so we can spread the love! After finding out that Zac would have to work thanksgiving night we decided it would be easier for us to host thanksgiving lunch over here in Calistoga.

The day of thanksgiving Zac and I were busy getting everything ready to have the family over. Cindy showed up at about 1:00 with all the food and Steve and Nick were going to come over later with the Turkey. Steve had been BBQing the turkey all day to give it a real smokey flavor. Zacs Aunt and Grandma were able to make it over as well!

It had been raining a couple days before but it was gorgeous weather on thanksgiving. We all had a great time being able to enjoy the wonderful food Steve and Cindy cooked and spend time with family. Tye and Becca were not able to make it for thanksgiving but we were sure to plan a get together with them during the weekend.
