Relaxing

I'm tired. I can't tell you how good it feels to sit down. But I know I need to get my blog on because if I let it go then its not gonna happen. And Im going to have a ton to blog about this up coming weekend because my momma is coming to visit me! I can't wait.

So Friday I did not have to work but Zac was gone all day working on his dads truck. That wasn't to exciting because Friday was a gorgeous day! However that night myself and some people from work headed over to Rohnert Park to try out the new Hooters. It was fun to hang out with everyone. We had a good group. Zac was able to meet us there after he finished his dads truck. After Hooters we took the party to my friend Manny and Yolis house. We had a few drinks and had fun dancing the night away! As you can see I got my cowboy on, I even was able to bust out the electric slide. Zac was pretty impressed.

Saturday morning Zac and I slept in which is always awesome. Once we got up we headed to our first stop of the morning, breakfast at Cafe Sarafornia. When our bellies were full we got to head down the street for our couples massages! We found a place we love in Calistoga so we just stay with Lincoln Avenue Spa. 50 minutes of a full body massage, yes please! What an awesome way to start our day. We got home and were able to get ready for our day. We headed over the hill to Santa Rosa to pick up Zacs dads 1937 Plymouth truck. He let us borrow it for our day out. Our first stop was Rodney Strong Winery for some wine tasting of course! It was very crowded but we were able to squeeze in. Once we were done at Rodney Strong we headed in Healdsburg. We were a little early for dinner so we found a really cool place called Vin Couture. Its a wine lounge up on the second story of a building. What a nice view we had enjoyed out wine and cheese before dinner.

I can't wait to take my mom here when she comes up! I think she will just love it. For dinner we headed over to Scopa. I received a gift card to Scopa for Christmas from one of my doctors at work. Dinner was so delicious. We enjoyed it all and then had to head over to Windsor for poker night! I must say that I didn't do to bad. I stayed with all the boys until there were about 4 of us left. I got out but my hubby one! Nice to have some extra cash.

Moving on to Sunday. With only a day left before heading back to work we used the morning to get some stuff done around the house. Including rearranging our bedroom. I wanted to get some new feng shui going on. For the afternoon we got invited to go wine tasting with my best friend Dana, her boyfriend, her cousin and her cousins boyfriend. I was so excited to see Dana, haven't seen her since Thanksgiving. We headed over to Sonoma for our first winery, Sunce. Dana's cousins boyfriend new the person who worked there so we were able to get a free tasting. When we were done we headed over to one last place, Russian Hill. We had the most gorgeous view at this winery we couldn't leave before taking some pictures. I wish the pictures did it justice but it honestly doesn't. We ended our day there and Zac and I headed back to Calistoga to cook some dinner. Check out what we made at my new blog Here.

Great weekend! And I have another great one on the way :) Stay tuned.

Birthday Boy

Guess whos birthday was yesterday!? Yes my little Valentines boy is now the big 2. Im hoping we have already been through the terrible twos though. We have had some ups and downs with our boy but I wouldn't trade it for the world. I love having him. A malamute is definitely not for anyone. He takes a lot of work! I like the challenge ;)

Today is not a big blog I just wanted to give a shout out to Hudson for his birthday and I also wanted to give a shout out to my amazing husband. He was working yesterday and has to work today but he sent roses to my work! This was very unexpected. He is not a big flower guy and I don't expect to get them, so when I do its always a nice surprise. He does so many things for me daily to take care of me! Im am so blessed to have him. Thank you for the roses Zac!

Its almost Valentines

Yes my dear blogger friends, it is almost Valentines day. But I am not here to talk about that because I don't really care that Valentines day is tomorrow. First of all, I think everyday you should shower your honey with love and second Zac is working tomorrow and so am I so we planning a little something for this weekend, dinner and massages. The picture above is from my daddy. He is so cute sending me flowers every Valentines day. Zac is not big on buying flowers so its sweet that my dad bought some for me.

Well I made it through my Friday that I had to work. I ended up staying at work till about 7:00 finishing up a root canal with our new endodontist. My friend Manny usually works with him but he had a concert to get to so I took over. After that long day I was whooped. I was so lucky to come home to a clean house and dinner cooking away by my awesome husband. We had invited Chelsie and Jason over for dinner and to let the boys play.

Saturday rolled along and Zac and I headed over the hill to run some errands. Zac reminded me that for lunch we could eat at Panera and I was so excited! We have Panera down in So Cal and we just so happened to get one up in Santa Rosa about a month ago! So good! We were also able to go to the storage unit and let Hudson run around. He just love its there. Its so funny watch him prance around. Before we knew it, it was time to head back over to Zacs parents house. On the way over we met my friend Courtney at a house that we wanted to look at. She is a realtor so she can show us any house on the market. It had some cute features but nothing worth looking into. For the rest of the evening we order some pizza, watched a movie and I made the boys some chocolate chip cookies!

Sunday Zac and I wanted to go on a hike. We decided we wouldnt go to far and headed up the Oat Hill Mine Trail with Hudson. It was the perfect day to hike Hudson up there because it was nice and cool. He did awesome! He pulls at the beginning but in no time he is just walking out in front of us. We packed some sandwiches so that we could stop and eat lunch. The trail was a pretty easy hike, we didn't go to the top because we had dinner plans that included 4 hours and a crock pot! If you are interested to see what I made check out my new blog that I set up Here.
Now we have already arrived at Monday. I only worked a half day today which I am excited about! At lunch I went over to the storage unit to visit Zac. He was working on a truck. He is planning on pulling the motor and transmission from that truck and putting it in his newest dodge truck ( the copper one). I was enjoying hanging out with my boys. Hudson was running around while Zac was working. A nice little afternoon if you ask me. I am always so impressed with how Zac knows how to work on all these vehicles. Is there anything he can't do? Its nice to have such manly man around. Now Im home and enjoying my afternoon. Time to clean the house! Gets so messy so quick, its crazy! It will be nice to have a clean house ready for the new week. Im excited to have a nice little weekend with my honey....and massages arn't bad either ;) Enjoy your week friends! Here are some pictures that I took today with my instagram:

Good Morning

It does not look like that right now. I took this picture last weekend when the weather was beautiful. How lucky am I to be able to walk into my backyard and have this view!? Yesterday we had a wet rainy day and this morning its foggy but I am hoping it will burn off.

You might be wondering how it can be 9:15 on a Wednesday morning I am finding the time to blog!? Shouldn't I be at work? Well our morning was pretty slow so I don't have to go in till 1:00 which is awesome because I don't get my usual 3 day weekend this week. I have to go in to work this Friday. So Im pretending this is my day off :) Zac is actually here this morning as well. He has been sick for the last couple of days so he called in sick to work today. Im sure he'll go in tomorrow.

Im a little behind on my blogging so I thought while I have some free time this morning I can give ya'll an update on my past weekend. It started off on Friday night, I decided to plan a girls night with the girls from work. Not everyone could make it but Erica and Lorena came. We went to a place in Santa Rosa called Hikuni which is pretty much like a Benni Hana's, or for you Palm Springs folk...Mokado. It was fun to get some drinks and watch our cook do all his fancy little tricks. This little dinner also worked out perfect because its my friends Ericas birthday this Thursday and since she will be going out to dinner with her honey we were able to celebrate it a little early.

Saturday Zac was home and we had dinner plans with his parents. It was Tyes 27th birthday on Feb. 1st. We just hung out at home and then headed over to Santa Rosa for the afternoon. Tye came up from Gilroy and brought nick 3 turtles and one crawfish for his fish tank. Tye warned us all that these turtles are mischievous and boy are they! We found out the other day that one of the turtles some how pushed the lid open on the tank, got out, walked across Nicks living room and fell down a flight of stairs where Nick found him in his lab. Crazy! Anyways, that night we all went to dinner at La Rosa and talked about a 6 day motorcycle trip that Tye wants to take from Washington to California...all dirt roads. Zac and I want to go along and be the sag wagon. Sounds like fun to me!

Sunday was the super bowl. Patriots vs. Giants. We didn't really care about the game but its a great excuse to eat football food! We were over in Santa Rosa so that the boys could work on their trucks and Cindy and I could watch the game together. Food was delish, I wasn't impressed with the commercials this year or the half time show. And just like that my weekend was already over! It goes by so quickly. This weekend I only get two days, Zac and I might try and do our Valentines stuff this weekend or next weekend, we'll see. Hope ya'll had a great weekend. Its hump day, we're half way through the week! Yipee!

Short weekend

Here we are again....Sunday. My weekend didn't get to start till Saturday which I am not used to. I love having my three day weekends but they needed some help at work so in I went. Friday actually went by pretty fast which I am happy for.

Saturday I was able to go to the bridal fair with my friend Erica and her friend. Our dental office had a booth there and we were handing out coupons to get discounts on bleaching. This was my first time at a bridal fair and it was quite the experience. There was a huge line surrounding the building but since we knew people on the inside we didn't have to wait in it. They have booths for everything there! Pictures, wedding cakes, flowers, venues, tanning, eyelashes, hair, everything you would need to prepare for your big day. I didn't have time to eat breakfast so it was nice to be able to walk around and try all the free samples. After being there a few hours we decided we needed a little more then cupcakes and cakes to fill up on so we headed down he street to buns and burgers for a quick snack. When we were done we headed back over to the bridal fair, I was already starting to feel warn out from walking around the fair and was ready to head home. We were planning on going on to dinner but I decided to head back home. Like I said before it was an interesting experience, I probably would prefer not to go again but for the bride to be it is a great idea!

Sunday my hubby came home from work! We were able to spend the whole day together which is always great. We headed over to Santa Rosa today to check out a house as well. I always like going and looking at houses. Its fun to see whats out there and Im looking forward to one day having a house of my own. When Zac and I got home we decided that we would cook something different for dinner. I had found some recipes through pinterest and blogs and tonight was the night to test them out. I must say that both of them turned out fabulous and I am so excited to have something new and yummy to eat!!

Let me first show you the delicious salad that we made which includes:
-Mixed greens
-Avocado
-Peppered Cashews
-Dried Cranberries
-Cilantro
And we also made really yummy homemade dressing which was poppy seed, balsamic vinaigrette, so good!

Next on the list was this delish appitizer:
-Toasted french bread
-Ricotta Cheese
-Roasted Grapes
-Lemon Zest
-Thyme

After all that salad and bread we had no room for our tomato and basil soup! This bread was just SO amazing though, I can't wait to make it again!

Rain, rain go away

Well it has been an interesting weekend. It started off with sad news, loosing Mopar and finding out that Zac did not get the full time job. Zac went back to work on Saturday so I planned a girls night with my friend Erica. Im not sure if I have mentioned this but Erica got engaged on New Years! Im so happy for her and SO excited. I think I should go into the wedding planning business because it sure is fun and I miss it! Anyways, I planned a sleep over where we could make drinks and look at bridal magazines.

I picked up Erica at around 4:30 in Santa Rosa and we headed over to Barnes and Nobles to get ourselves some magazines to look at. We also picked up a wedding planning book. We headed over the hill to Calistoga to go get some dinner. We decided we would eat at Hydros. The food was delcious, we had a mixture of butternut squash soup, atrichokes with lemon pepper aioli and some good ol fashioned mac and cheese! Once we were done eating we headed back to my house for the real fun! We made some delicious drinks, looked through bridal magazines and got some great ideas for her wedding. We also played one of our favorite movies Step Brothers. Sometimes its just nice to have a girls night in. I don't remember the last time I have done that. Its a little harder living up here because I had to make a whole new set of friends. Sometimes it is hard to put yourself out there and to really make the effort. Im trying to get better at that.

We tried to stay up as late as we could but we only made it to about 12:30! Can't stay up as late as a used to. I just appreciate my sleep to much. When we woke up the next morning it was gloomy and rainy. But we made the best of it and headed into town for some nice warm breakfast at Cafe Sarafornia. After breakfast it was time to take Erica back home. I stopped at my house really quick to pick up my boy huds so he wouldn't be trapped in the house. And let me just say that I am loving my truck so much! I put hudson in the back with the seats down and he was a perfect little angel. He usually rides in the truck bed but I didn't want him getting soaking wet today.I rolled down the windows in the back and he was having so much fun putting his head out! He looked so cute!

Now Me and Huds are just enjoying out rainy day together. He is fast asleep and I am watching some TV. A little later I am going to watch one of my Audrey Hepburn movies I got for christmas! I think that will be a perfect way for me to end my weekend. I hope that ya'll had a nice weekend.

A sad day

Anyone who knows my in laws Im sure knows of Mopar. Mopar was one of many German Shepherds the Fleckners have owned. What and amazing dog he was, very smart. I always loved coming over and watching the way Mopar would interact with all the boys. You always knew that Steve was the alpha dog, Mopar would do anything to protect him! They would always take him on trips whether it was up to Canada for snowboarding or backpacking in the Trinity Alps. He had a wonderful like with the Fleckners.

On our last backpack trip is when we really noticed that Mopar was going blind. From then on it was down hill. He began to run in to everything, got very thin and more recently started to snap at people when they touched him. He was also having trouble going to the bathroom. I think the poor guy was starting to be in pain. So yesterday at around 10:00am Steve and Nick took Mopar in. I can only imagine how hard it was for them because they truly loved that dog like part of the family. Even thinking about it now makes me want to cry. Its always amazes me that we put ourselves through this. We all know that our pets eventually will die but somehow the joy of having them with us whether its for a few years or 13 years is worth the pain. All the wonderful memories that we have from our pets is worth it. Mopar, you will be remembered forever! We all love you and will miss you.
